Ms. O'Brien is a retired public school principal. Leisure time offered her the opportunity to travel and explore the creative side of her nature. She has written four childrens books, painted on beach rocks and driftwood, created rock art, designed sea glass jewelry, and operated a successful craft business.

I began creating rock art and seaglass jewelry upon retiring to the shore in 2002. I've since created bracelettes, ornaments, bookmarks and other items with several of my grandchildren who have now moved forward on their own. Creating works of art brings me pleasure, satisfaction, and sometimes surprises.

I created a designated space in my home from which to craft. It's important to have a work surface as well as a space to store crafting materials. Be prepared to grow your space because, as your creative spirit grows, you will need more space.
